Choosing to visit a naturopath to manage or improve your health can be a turning point for many people.

While it involves health investigation and a holistic approach from the practitioner to provide the body with the support it needs to begin to balance and heal, it also requires the patient to have self-responsibility and to be committed to the healing process. Being ready for change, learning, listening to your body, changing old habits, and challenging yourself outside of your comfort zone can all be part of this process. Improvements can happen fast for many people and for some, improvements can be slow and take time especially if there are many imbalances in the body.

Healing with nature is not a magic pill and can often be described as 'peeling the layers off an onion' with changes at every stage. With commitment and patience, many people gain benefits and a healthier understanding of their bodies.

These benefits will assist you in many areas of your life.....physically, mentally, emotionally, and financially.

Naturopathy consultations with Julie typically involve...

  • Nutritional Medicine - both your current normal diet and if needed prescribing quality practitioner only nutrients/supplements

  • Herbal Medicine - liquid herbal tinctures made for each individual patient

  • Australian Bush Flower Emotional Remedies - used to offer emotional balancing and support

  • Bodywork (if required) massage, stretching guidance,

  • Lifestyle supportive strategies - especially where old negative habits are impacting your health

  • Regularly reviewing your progress and prescribed nutrients or herbal medicines

Collecting a detailed patient health history is essential for every patient to then receive an individual and holistic approach to their treatment. Julie strongly believes our modern diets and using food as medicine need to be a large focus for many people but also believes in order to encourage more in-depth repair or balancing of depleted body systems we need the added benefits of quality nutrients formulas and liquid herbal tinctures.

A special interest of Julie's is providing practical tips for your nutritional and lifestyle adjustment period. This includes meal prep and kitchen organisation tips that will make you feel empowered to embrace your newfound skills and make these changes as smooth as possible.

"Helping you feel comfortable is important to me, but I’ll also encourage you to step out of your comfort zone by helping you move out of your old habits"

During your consultation, Julie will collect information on various areas of your life such as

  • stress and nervous system

  • dietary habits

  • time and availability

  • work and family commitments

  • exercise and energy output

  • self-care practices

  • mood and mental health

  • prescribed medications

  • family history

  • budget

  • previously diagnosed illnesses or health issues

  • sleep and energy

  • digestive function

  • your expectations

Observing immediate physical symptoms and signs of possible nutrient deficiencies with every patient would typically take place through

  • nail, tongue, and iris analysis

  • stool and digestive function questioning

  • diet and symptom diary

  • physical assessment

  • current and past health conditions

  • any possible food intolerances or diagnosed allergies

During your treatment process, Julie may also request further testing for various conditions, functions, or nutrient levels.

The important balance of the digestive and nervous system function.....

The role of the digestive system is very complex and with an estimated 80% of our immune system located in our gut, it is becoming an essential area to focus on for improving or healing any condition in the body. Our digestive system is also controlled by our parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest system). If our "rest and digest" phase is dominated by our sympathetic nervous system (fight and flight) then all of our digestive processes are negatively affected. Absorption of nutrients for our cells, organs, and growth and repair will all be negatively affected and this is one way we begin to develop deficiencies of important nutrients which then create illness and disease.

Julie's own journey with inflammatory bowel disease has provided a strong understanding of the combined role of the digestive system and the nervous system. During a nutrition or naturopathy consultation, Julie makes sure to explain this impact to patients and support them with not only information but also lifestyle strategies to support changing previous habits, reducing stress triggers, empowerment, and meal prep inspiration, and organization to encourage positive changes and healing.

If needed, Julie has a variety of qualified and effective practitioners to refer patients to or work collaboratively with.

“Both my Naturopathy Consultations and Online Programs can cover a lot, but most people just need momentum, simple and effective solutions and strategies with encouragement to help guide them on their healing journey”.
“I believe we need healthy personal responsibility and healthy personal value to create abundance for our health, finances, work and personal growth.
